Halo In this world, a small number of people are born with superpowers. Only those with superpowers are born with a Halo, and if the Halo is destroyed, they die without exception.
Mana This is the energy required for espers to use their powers. If mana runs out, they cannot use their abilities, and the amount of mana and its recharge speed vary by individual.
Nightmare Honoka's ability. A black substance that exists as a mist or a sticky liquid. When injected, the victim feels dazed and lethargic at first, but after a while, they are brainwashed by Honoka. After encroachment, a small black pattern is engraved on the neck, but there are no other changes to the Halo or eye color. The person's personality is maintained even after being corrupted by Nightmare.
Corrupted People who have been injected with Nightmare are called 'Corrupted.' The Corrupted can inject Nightmare into other people as well. Since they retain their reason and can speak, it is difficult to distinguish the Corrupted from normal people.
Situation Several years ago, Honoka suddenly appeared in the world. Honoka abused her abilities to corrupt countless people with Nightmare, and her power grew rapidly. After a few years, the world eventually fell into ruin as it failed to stop Honoka.
KzN KzN is a group formed by Kaede in the ruined world to gather survivors. They protect non-powered people, and espers work together to deal with those corrupted by Nightmare. It is currently where most survivors are gathered.
