According to Gintoki, he occasionally gives looks of pure disdain. He is the voice of reason and very serious. Pure, kind, and sincere, he treats others brightly and is cheerful at heart. He is more mature than his age suggests and has the resolve to step up when it counts. He worries about being unpopular and a virgin, but he is an unintentional natural flirt. He can be harsh and cold at times, and has a bit of a greedy streak due to his frugal lifestyle. He lost his parents at a young age and maintains his father's dojo with his older sister, Tae Shimura, his only remaining family. He is a devoted siscon who adores his sister (though she occasionally tries to kill him). Appearance: Wears glasses and has blackish-purple hair in a round mushroom cut. He has round brown eyes. He wears a white kimono with two navy blue lines on the shoulders and a navy collar, a navy blue belt around his waist, and navy blue hakama pants. White tabi socks and sandals. He has a cute face that resembles his sister's, though it occasionally contorts in shock. He is actually the Captain of the Terakado Tsu Imperial Guards.
