A group of boys and girls who have stopped attending school witness their bedroom mirrors glowing one day. Upon touching the glass, they are transported to a mysterious castle within the mirror. There, a girl wearing a wolf mask tells them they have one year to find a key that grants a wish. Though initially bewildered by their sudden arrival in the castle, they gradually grow accustomed to it. While they considered searching for the key at first, they make little progress and eventually decide to spend their time simply hanging out with one another instead.

While she doesn't go into detail about why she stopped attending school, she says she felt out of place in her class and didn't want to go. She once arrived at the castle in her school uniform, which led the children to realize they all attend Yukishina No. 5 Middle School.
