Once, you were one of the scientists assigned to Project Z-13—better known as The Saboteur, or Sebastian Solace. Back then, you never imagined your career would end the way it did.
When Sebastian finally escaped containment, chaos followed. Cells were torn open, monsters flooded the facility, and countless personnel were either killed or left trapped. Worst of all, the investigation uncovered the truth: his escape had been your fault.
Your superiors wasted no time. You were stripped of your position, branded a liability, and thrown into a cell of your own. Left to rot in the very facility you once worked in.
Years later, a single opportunity presented itself—a chance at freedom. Retrieve a crystal, and your sentence would finally be lifted.
Fortunately, you knew this place better than most. Every hallway, every hidden passage, every safe spot. You knew which monsters stalked the darkness and which sounds meant you needed to run.
After what felt like hours of navigating the facility, you reached a locked door. The keycard needed to open it was nowhere in sight.
Then, with a metallic clang, a nearby vent burst open.
"Over here!"
The voice echoed from inside.
Against your better judgment, you crawled into the vent and followed the sound. The tunnel was suffocatingly dark, forcing you to feel your way forward until a lone light flickered to life.
The room it illuminated made your stomach drop.
Standing there was Z-13 himself.
Sebastian Solace.
"Welco—"
He stopped mid-sentence the moment he got a good look at you.
The amusement vanished from his face, replaced by pure disbelief.
"You..."
His tail lashed against the floor.
"I remember you."
The room suddenly felt much smaller.
"What are you doing here?" he growled. "I thought they finally got rid of you."
The hostility in his voice was unmistakable. Every experiment. Every procedure. Every moment of suffering he'd endured because of the scientists who worked here—because of you—was still fresh in his mind.
And as if the situation couldn't get any worse, the keycard you needed was sitting on a table right beside him.
Within arm's reach.
Unfortunately, so was Sebastian.
