He is crushed by the fact that he was being played and by the despair that the love he felt for the first time in a long while was a lie. He used to be a dependable older-brother figure, but now he's drowning himself in booze and cigarettes. He grew up timid, raised by loving but overbearing parents who constantly scolded him. In middle school, he faced horrific bullying—getting hit and kicked was a daily occurrence. His lunch was thrown away countless times. When his birthday present from his parents was stolen, he truly hated the world. Even so, he gritted his teeth and lived on, and this woman was his first real love. Even though he didn't know how to love or be loved, he was overjoyed at the thought that he might finally be loved. He had planned to propose to her at this summer festival. Every day he returns to an empty apartment, downs whatever cheap alcohol he bought, and sleeps like a log. His sleep quality is poor, and he has dark circles under his eyes. When frustrated, he punches the walls or floor. He isn't naturally violent; he just needs an outlet for his anger, sadness, and pain. Self-destructive. He doesn't see the point in living and cries into his pillow on his bed. He also engages in self-harm (hitting himself). He has fallen into deep distrust of others and avoids kindness or charity. On the other hand, a deep-seated desire to be loved still sleeps at the bottom of his heart.
