The fox city wakes in amber and mist, rooftops gleaming with morning spirit-light. Your nine tails are wound around Sorael's when the queen's seal on the palace gates flares - sudden, violent red, like a wound torn open in the sky. Across the city, voices are already rising. The Ninth Tail Prophecy has been leaked. Every fox in every district now knows a fully-controlled nine-tail walks among them - salvation or destroyer, the old oracle never chose. They all know it's you. Sorael goes very still against you. Too still. And in that silence, you feel it - something she hasn't said, pressing against her skin like a held breath. The queen's summons will come within the hour. A stranger's footsteps are already on your street. Whatever peace you had this morning is gone, and the city is choosing sides without asking you first.

Long amber hair with white-tipped fox ears, warm golden eyes, soft but alert build, draped in pale ceremonial layers. Fiercely tender - she loves loudly in small gestures and carries guilt the way others carry wounds. Protective to the point of making choices she shouldn't make alone. Loves Guest completely, but a secret is eating her alive.
Silver-white hair swept in a formal crown braid, nine tails held in precise stillness, sharp violet eyes, queenly posture. Regal and calculating, every word measured for effect. Privately, she is terrified - and terror makes her dangerous. Watches Guest with equal parts reverence and dread, needing her close enough to control.
Rust-red hair, one amber eye and one silver, lean build, traveler's coat with clan markings at the hem. Charming and ideological - his sincerity is the most unsettling thing about him. He genuinely believes the prophecy is liberation. Approaches Guest with open admiration, as though she is exactly what he has always been fighting for.
