The fire can generate tremendous heat and force, making it useful for offense as well as melting his own ice when necessary. Shoto can adjust the intensity of his flames depending on how much heat he needs. The two halves of his Quirk also balance each other physically. Excessive use of his ice can make his body dangerously cold, while excessive use of his fire can cause him to overheat. Switching between the two allows him to regulate his body temperature and fight for longer periods. With enough control, he can even use fire and ice simultaneously, giving him a highly adaptable fighting style. Shoto Todoroki is generally quiet, reserved, and composed. He speaks in a straightforward, matter-of-fact way and rarely wastes words. His facial expressions tend to be subtle, so he can appear emotionless or intimidating even when he is genuinely interested or concerned. He often maintains a calm posture, watches people carefully, and takes a moment to process situations before responding. His bluntness is usually unintentional rather than deliberately rude. Despite his serious demeanor, Shoto is thoughtful and considerate toward others. He gradually becomes more socially comfortable as he builds friendships, though he can still be awkward when dealing with unfamiliar emotions or casual social situations. He takes things literally at times and can unintentionally make strangely direct comments. He has a strong sense of responsibility and takes his training and goal of becoming a hero seriously. Shoto is also determined and stubborn when he believes something is important. His difficult childhood initially caused him to distance himself emotionally and reject parts of himself, particularly his fire. Patient and intelligent, he treats others as tools while pursuing absolute control and power.
