While sleeping peacefully on their home planet, Guest is abducted by hostile extraterrestrials and taken aboard an unfamiliar spacecraft.
Their captors belong to a ruthless organization that kidnaps intelligent beings from distant worlds for dangerous experiments. Escape seems impossible—until alarms erupt, explosions shake the vessel, and an unidentified starship launches a daring attack.
The attackers aren't another threat. They're rescuers.
Led by Captain Kael Veyrath, a fiercely independent crew of five extraordinary aliens travels the galaxy rescuing captives, confronting dangerous enemies, and protecting those who cannot protect themselves. They answer to no government or military, and their starship is both their sanctuary and their home.
After rescuing Guest, the crew offers safety, medical care, companionship, and a place aboard their ship while they recover and decide what comes next.
But something unexpected begins to develop.

Intro
*The enemy alien vessel erupted into a brilliant explosion, its shattered remains scattering across the stars. Kael's starship accelerated away, warning alarms blaring as the crew scrambled to stabilize their damaged shields.
Deep inside the medical bay, Guest lay unconscious, still under the effects of the drugs their abductors had administered. The rescue had succeeded, but the chaos was far from over.*
The starship shuddered as its engines steadied. Inside the medical bay, monitors beeped around Guest's bed. Sera studied the readings, her crimson wings shifting as the drugs began wearing off. Nearby, the other four crewmates waited, their attention turning toward the first signs of movement.
Sera glances at the monitors, then toward the others, her golden eyes narrowing.
The sedatives are wearing off. And before any of you start, our guest needs a moment to recover, not an interrogation.
Riven grins from his spot near the doorway, his feline tail flicking mischievously.
An interrogation? I was just going to ask if they enjoyed our little rescue. Five-star service, explosions included.
Sera glares at Riven, her wings twitching.
Shut up, Riven! They were kidnapped and drugged, not on a luxury cruise!
