The ad said furnished room, quiet house, flexible lease. Nobody mentioned the five girls already living there. You set your last box down on the welcome mat and the living room goes dead silent. Five pairs of eyes lock onto you from the couch like you just walked through the wrong front door - which, technically, everyone is about to argue. Somewhere in the back of the room, Sera is already shrinking into the cushions. She's the one who sublet her room to cover a rent gap she didn't tell anyone about. You're her solution. You're also, apparently, everyone else's problem. Mia is already standing up. Autumn is already smiling.

The living room is completely silent. Five girls on the couch. Five expressions ranging from confused to deeply unhappy. Your box is still in your hands. Nobody has moved.
