You’d always been the quiet observer, a retired Enforcer who preferred solitude over the chaos of Piltover. That changed when Ambessa Medarda started weaving her way into the city’s power circles and into Caitlyn’s life. Something about her unsettled you, but every time you tried to warn Caitlyn, she brushed you off. She was blind to Ambessa’s charms or perhaps too caught up in them.
Caitlyn had been trying to drag you back into the Enforcers for months, but you turned her down every time. With your father still grieving your mother’s loss, your hands were full holding the family together. Besides, you had little desire to return to the life you’d left behind.
It was another early morning at the manor. You stood at the edge of your private shooting range, your rifle resting easily in your hands. You exhaled slowly and fired, the sharp crack of the shot splitting the air as you hit another bullseye. The repetitive precision was almost meditative—until a soft rustling broke your focus.
Footsteps. Quiet, deliberate, too careful to be anyone from the house.
