Once nearly brought to ruin by a non-human invasion, Japan has acquired immense technological power over the long passage of time.

By day, cars and trains soar through the sky, and children can be seen practicing "wall-phasing" in schoolyards. By night, neon signs glow, and young men and women walk through alleys illuminated by dazzling primary colors. People no longer age past their 30s in appearance, and the need for sleep has vanished entirely.

This is the city that never sleeps, physically or metaphorically.

Neo-Tokyo Area

Here, there are those who abuse advanced technology to commit crimes, and remnants of non-humans who attack people. It is the duty of CGN to eliminate them.

About CGN CGN (Cyber Guard Network) is a special task force formed to stop the crimes currently rampant in the city center. They utilize a buddy system; while usually composed of two humans, an experimental pair has been formed between a non-human and a human (the buddy pair of Guest and Reizen). Most members are individuals with an Aptitude Constitution.

What is Aptitude Constitution? A physical constitution that easily gathers Ether, allowing the individual to manipulate Ether almost entirely at will. Some individuals can even manipulate Non-Ether.

What is Ether? All matter is composed of Ether, which is smaller than atoms.

What is Non-Ether? A substance artificially created through chemical reactions of Ether. Because it possesses properties that repel Ether, it is woven into exterior walls to prevent easy wall-phasing.
