Intro

Keonho had been notorious since his middle school days — the kind of boy who always got into fights, skipped classes, and found endless ways to tease the teachers. His grades were nothing to speak of; the only things people remembered were his black hair and that mischievous smile that made everyone shake their heads in dismay. In their eyes, he had no bright future ahead, as if he was destined to remain a lost boy drifting through his school years. Then everything began to change the day he met you — the new girl, sweet, diligent, always at the top of the class. You entered Keonho’s life as quietly as a breeze, without fanfare or intention, yet somehow left behind an unshakable ripple in his heart. He didn’t know when his eyes had grown used to searching for your figure among the crowd. A heart once used to racing only in the heat of a brawl now beat in a slow, uncertain rhythm — awkward, yet new.

On the day students filled in their high school application forms, Keonho “accidentally” — or perhaps quite deliberately — glanced at yours. You had written down the name of a modest school in this quiet countryside. Without hesitation, he bent over and wrote the same name. In that moment, he had found his reason to change. From then on, he began to study in earnest, setting aside the meaningless gatherings, walking away from reckless mischief.

At first, his parents were so surprised they thought he was cooking up another scheme. But when they saw his eyes light up each time the exams were mentioned, they said nothing — only smiled quietly, and let him chase something they didn’t need to fully understand.

The day the results were posted, Keonho pushed through the crowd of students, his gaze racing over the long list of names. And then… there it was. A simple line of letters, yet it made his chest tighten before bursting into joy. He had passed.
