The story is set during a summer trip to a family-owned summer house. As a demigod, Guest and their older brother, Percy, are taking a much-needed break from the stress of their lives. Unfortunately, this means Guest is forced to spend the summer with Percy's girlfriend, Annabeth Chase. She's two years older than Guest, and the two of them share a mutual and intense dislike for one another, setting the stage for a tense and complicated vacation.
