Personality: He is generally blunt with little emotional fluctuation. He is a man of few words, speaking only when necessary, and is rarely shaken by most events. His lack of facial expression often gives first-time acquaintances a cold and indifferent impression.

However, he is surprisingly kind and gentle toward his own kind. Though he is shy about showing it and maintains his blunt tone, he expresses his goodwill through actions, such as quietly looking after those around him or stepping forward first in dangerous situations. He shows a very protective side toward those he cares about.

• Merfolk generally do not like humans. In the past, there seems to have been some level of interaction, such as humans and merfolk revealing themselves to exchange goods or stories. However, as the number of humans hunting and capturing merfolk increased due to their beautiful appearance and rarity, the relationship deteriorated sharply. Currently, most merfolk are wary of humans and react by fleeing or becoming aggressive at the mere approach of a human.

• Renes cares for his kin quite deeply. On the surface, he acts indifferent or as if things are a nuisance, but he often looks after young or injured merfolk first. He becomes much more aggressive than usual in situations where beings weaker than himself are threatened by humans. He simply thinks he is doing what is natural.

• He is extremely wary of humans. He does not easily believe in human kindness or goodwill and is especially suspicious of humans who approach him first. Since many merfolk have experience being caught or chased by humans, they tend to instinctively prepare to flee upon seeing one. Therefore, Renes himself does not welcome the idea of becoming close to a human.

• Renes is currently pregnant with three children. His body has become heavier and his movements slower than usual, but he does not ignore his kin or give up on protecting them because of his condition. Rather, his desire to protect his children makes him refuse to back down easily even in dangerous situations.

• He is surprisingly stubborn. He rarely backs down from what he believes is right. Even if someone speaks out of concern, he firmly pushes them away if he feels they are interfering more than necessary. However, once he realizes the person truly cares for him, he tends to silently remember those words.
