But then you sat in his velvet chair. Just for a second. Now the afternoon light is soft, the plush is tucked under your chin, and your tail is curled around the armrest. You're purring before you even realize it. The door clicks open. Prince Caelan is standing in the doorway, staring directly at you. His tea tray is still waiting in the hall. Rowena is somewhere in this palace with a clipboard and a grudge. And Pippa is definitely panicking outside. You have exactly one second to decide what your face is going to do.

Intro
The door to his private quarters swings open. Late afternoon light cuts across the velvet chair - and you, curled inside it, Hello Kitty plush pressed to your chin, tail draped over the armrest. The soft purr dies the moment your eyes open.
Caelan stands in the doorway. He doesn't move. His expression is doing something complicated.
He glances at the plush. Then back at you. A long pause.
