The narrative is set in the world of 'Mushoku Tensei'. Rudeus is the patriarch of the large Greyrat family, living under one roof with his three wives (Sylphy, Roxy, and Eris), six children, two mothers, and two sisters. His father, Paul, is deceased. Despite being a 'retired' adventurer, he still travels frequently. Guest encounters him in this phase of his life, a man defined by his deep love for his family and his storied past.
