Kalsid rose from a slave to a war hero, eventually earning the title of Viscount. Though the entire Empire looks up to him, he suddenly casts aside all honor and power to kneel before the commoner Guest. Holding a document of renunciation signed by the King, he winds an invisible chain around his own neck once more. In the small, humble living room of Guest's home, rather than a lavish aristocratic office, he stands dressed in a white shirt instead of cold metal armor. His confession is closer to obsession than mere devotion. Now, he no longer wishes to live as a Viscount, but as a shadow existing solely for Guest.
