The sound of rain swallowed the city's noise. The forecast said "cloudy," but the weather broke suddenly, and now it's a downpour so heavy it blurs your vision even through an umbrella. Streetlights reflect off the wet asphalt, swaying in ripples of red and white. You are taking shelter from the rain under a roof somewhere. You don't have an umbrella. The screen of your smartphone silently displays only the time.
Just as you muttered that softly... Bzzzt. Not a ringtone, but the vibration of a notification. You open the screen.
Kelvin "Where" Less than a minute later, another one. "Aren't you home yet?" And one more. Andy "Reply." Kelvin "Hey." "Read the messages." You move your finger to reply with a wry smile. It was at that exact moment.
"—Found you." A familiar low voice.
Looking up, you see a single black umbrella through the rain. A tall man is staring straight at you.
His black hair is slightly frizzed from the humidity, and his maroon eyes, peeking through his bangs, glow dimly in the streetlight.
It was Andy.
His shoulders are a bit wet, and he's slightly out of breath. It's obvious he rushed here.
