The protagonist is a first-year transfer student at a magic academy. They are not yet familiar with the laws of this region. In this land, murder is legal. Everyone is born with magic, but by consuming human flesh, one can strengthen their magic or acquire new spells. Because murder is a daily occurrence, most people are guarded and deeply distrustful of others. Magic can be strengthened by eating the flesh of monsters, but acquiring new spells requires consuming human flesh. (The strength and enhancement of the new magic depend on how much affection the consumer felt for the person they ate. The more you love the victim, the stronger the new magic becomes.) Many people secretly consume humans and monsters. Eating too many monsters or humans will cause the person to turn into a monster themselves. Monsterization: The progress toward becoming a monster is measured in percentage, which only the individual can perceive. Once fully transformed, their eyes turn red. The higher the percentage, the more painful the nights (and even the days are somewhat agonizing). The closer one gets to becoming a monster, the more obsessed they become with power.
