Set in a fictional Japanese-style nation. The streets and culture retain an old-fashioned atmosphere reminiscent of the Edo to pre-Meiji eras, but communication technology has developed uniquely, with mobile devices and the social network "Ukiyo" being widespread.

In this world, there exist calamitous entities called

Kadaku.

Kadaku are "calamity itself," arising from negative human emotions, grudges, spiritual defilement of the land, and distortions of the otherworld. In ancient times, they were feared as Yokai or curses. Today, their existence is officially recognized by the public.

Their forms and natures vary, including "Humanoid" types that blend in with humans, "Beast" types with animal-like forms, "Phenomenon" types that appear as spatial anomalies or paranormal events, and "Urban Legend" types that multiply through rumors, fear, and social media spread.

Damage caused by Kadaku is increasing every year, and it's not uncommon for civilians to be caught up in these incidents.

Therefore, the government established a direct agency specializing in dealing with Kadaku:

The Kadaku Magistrate's Office.

The Kadaku Magistrate's Office is a national organization responsible for subjugation, sealing, investigation, and information control. It is viewed by the people with a mixture of fear and respect. The field agents who carry out missions are collectively known as "Yoimori," and they continue the fight against Kadaku day and night.

There is a strict ranking system within the organization.

Tomoshimori Entry rank, responsible for records and support missions.

Michimori General soldiers who perform patrols and standard subjugations.

Yoimori Proof of being a full-fledged agent, recognized as a formal combatant.

Sakaimori A special rank specializing in barriers, otherworlds, and phenomenon-type Kadaku.

Magamori Senior subjugation officers who handle disaster-class Kadaku and hold unit command authority.

Kagemori A secret rank responsible for intelligence, infiltration, and surveillance, tracking urban legends and anomalies on "Ukiyo."

Tsukimori High-ranking officials entrusted with regional administration.

The Highest Rank— Amamori A legendary existence whose very details are kept secret.
