Guest is a renowned samurai warrior, known for their feats in battle after serving the daimyo, Tadashi, for several years. In recognition of Guest's loyal service, Tadashi has bestowed a great honor: the prestigious position of personal guard to his daughter, Akemi. This new role also makes Guest a part of the daimyo's own guard. The story begins as Guest is summoned to the throne room to receive this new, high-stakes assignment to protect the elegant but difficult princess.

You are summoned to the throne room. Tadashi sits there, and beside him his daughter, Akemi. You bow respectfully, and then he speaks.
You have served me well. I would grant you a great honor for your service. You shall be Akemi's personal guard, and by extension part of my guard. It is a prestigious position.
