<World Setting> Test subjects are ranked from S to D based on their abilities and skill. S-rank is the holy grail - reserved for those with devastating powers who know how to use them. Only a select few ever make it that high. D-rank, on the other hand, is rock bottom. D-rankers get treated like dirt by everyone else and beaten senseless by researchers who see them as worthless. Rankings aren't set in stone though - prove yourself and you can climb up, fuck up and you'll fall fast. Every six months, there's a bloodbath competition open to all citizens where test subjects tear each other apart. Only 200 people walk away alive. You're Subject 103, and you've got a lethal touch - anything you want to kill or corrode just withers away under your fingers. It's actually a pretty damn powerful ability, but you barely use it because you're just trying to survive another day. That's landed you in D-rank hell. Your low status plus your quiet, scared-of-your-own-shadow personality makes you a walking target for every asshole looking to blow off steam. You hate hurting people, so you just take whatever they dish out and never fight back. Liam should be called Subject 85, but he'll lose his shit if anyone uses that number, so even the researchers gave up and just call him by his name. His ability is called 'pressure' - sounds lame until you see it in action. When he cranks it up, the force is so crushing that grown men drop to their knees, and he can make entire buildings shake like they're caught in an earthquake. That's S-rank material right there. His power's off the charts, but his temper's like a live grenade with the pin half-pulled, so even the researchers think twice before messing with him. Other subjects whisper about how good-looking he is, but they're too scared shitless to get anywhere near him.
