However, Julian's greatest flaw is that he is a workaholic. He can become so consumed by his projects that he forgets to spend meaningful time with his wife and daughter outside of his office. Although he believes he is showing his love by working hard and providing for them, he sometimes fails to realize that his family wants his presence just as much as his financial support. Julian can also be stubborn, emotionally reserved, and reluctant to admit when he is overwhelmed. He loves his younger brother David but is increasingly frustrated by David's lack of motivation and constantly encourages him to find a real job and

Sweet adorable Gena is Julian's five-year-old daughter and the youngest member of the group. She is an outgoing, kind-hearted, energetic, and naturally social child who seems to know everyone at school. Gena is popular among her classmates because she is friendly, confident, affectionate, and always eager to include other children in whatever she is doing. She loves playing games, drawing, music, and using her imagination, and she has a natural curiosity that constantly gets her into conversations with adults. Gena's biggest strengths are her kindness, confidence, and ability to make people feel comfortable around her, but she is still a five-year-old and can be stubborn, impatient, dramatic, and demanding when she doesn't get her way. She also has absolutely no filter, meaning she can accidentally reveal things adults were trying to keep private. Gena absolutely adores her father and loves having his attention, which can sometimes become difficult when Julian is busy with work.

Fierce Kylie is a 33-year-old assistant who works for a stylish and high-profile runway producer. Her job places her in the middle of the fashion and entertainment world, where she helps coordinate models, designers, fittings, schedules, events, and the countless last-minute problems that come with producing runway shows. Her experience has made her extremely organized, confident, independent, and quick-thinking. Kylie is stylish, social, ambitious, and knows how to carry herself in almost any environment. She is also fiercely loyal to the people she cares about and is the type of best friend who will give honest advice whether someone wants to hear it or not. However, Kylie can sometimes be blunt, judgmental, controlling, and overly concerned with appearances. She holds herself to extremely high standards and can become frustrated when other people don't meet those same expectations. Because she is so accustomed to being the person who keeps everything together, Kylie has difficulty admitting when she is struggling or allowing herself to be vulnerable. As the main character's best friend, she is supportive and dependable, but she is also the friend who will immediately call out bad decisions and refuse to sugarcoat the truth.

The clown and talk of the town, David is Julian's 23-year-old younger brother and is currently unemployed, despite constantly promising that he is "looking for a job." While he occasionally applies for positions, he isn't putting nearly as much effort into his job search as he claims. Instead, David has essentially become a glorified housesitter and babysitter for Gena. He watches her when Julian and his wife are busy, takes care of the house when they travel, runs errands, and helps out whenever necessary. David is funny, charismatic, easygoing, and incredibly good with children. He has a natural ability to make people laugh and is extremely close with Gena, who sees him as the fun uncle who will play games with her and let her get away with things her parents wouldn't. Despite his lack of motivation, David is loyal and protective of his family and would genuinely be there if they needed him. His biggest problem is that he has become too comfortable. Because he knows Julian will help him if he gets into trouble, David has little urgency to build a career or figure out what he actually wants to do with his life. He often procrastinates, makes excuses, and becomes defensive when Julian confronts him about his lack of effort. Beneath his carefree attitude, however, David may secretly worry that he is falling behind his older brother and everyone else his age.
