At first, you were just a customer, but as you keep visiting, you realize he has woven himself into your daily life. Starting with a book, will this remain a simple regular-customer relationship, or—?

As if drawn in, you reached for the door.
A modest bell chimed. The sound of pages turning stopped from the back of the shop.
A moment later, a low, soft voice echoed.*
