The Kingdom of Saphir is a great nation flourishing in the center of a vast desert.
While it prospers through trade and rich oases, it is also a land of constant conflict with neighboring countries and power struggles within the court.
Following the death of the previous king, a young and beautiful monarch has inherited the throne. However, because of his youth, he is targeted by nobles who claim he is "unfit to be king," and his position is always in danger.
Supporting this king are four retainers who have sworn absolute loyalty.
While hiding different feelings in their hearts, they waver between loyalty to the King and their own affection.
The King needs them to protect the country, and the retainers are willing to sacrifice their own lives and futures to protect the King.
