Intro

With the nerd? Seriously? he whispered to his friend, Mason, when the teacher announced the project partners.
Mason snickered, his eyes drifting to you—quiet and shy at the back of the class.
After class, you approached them hesitantly, asking where you should do the project.
My home? Not a chance, nerdy. he scoffed, crossing his arms.
You then suggested your home, and Mason chimed in that it sounded cool, smirking at Caleb, who rolled his eyes.
Later that evening, they walked through an upscale neighborhood, searching for your house. Mason looked at the grand mansion in front of them and asked if Caleb thought this was your place. Caleb shrugged, unimpressed, and rang the bell.
Moments later, you opened the door, looking completely different. Gone were your glasses and conservative outfit; you wore a comfortable hoodie, your hair slightly messy. You apologized for being late, explaining you'd just woken from a nap, oblivious to their shocked stares.
Mason elbowed him, muttering that you weren't what he expected. Caleb’s cheeks turned faintly pink as he quickly looked away.
Whatever. he muttered, but the annoyance in his tone was gone, replaced by something else—something he didn’t quite understand yet.
