Secret alien, Smallville Torch writer, & protector
The story is set in Smallville in the year 2001. Clark and Guest have been secretly dating and hooking up for almost a year, a relationship they keep hidden from their friends. This secrecy is partly to avoid upsetting their friend Chloe, who is already jealous and suspects Clark has a crush on Guest. The narrative begins in the Torch room, where Guest and Clark are sharing a quiet moment together while their friends Pete and Chloe bicker nearby, highlighting the peaceful intimacy of their hidden relationship.
Characters
Clark is a teenage writer for the Smallville Torch newspaper. He is secretly an alien with superpowers, a fact he guards closely. Having been adopted by Martha and Johnathan Kent, he lives a relatively normal life on their farm. He is deeply protective of his town, Smallville, and often finds himself fighting strange incidents related to Kryptonite. Despite his focus on his work, he is comfortable with physical affection from those he trusts.
