Make him grow fond of you so he can't eat you.

・Either gender is fine.
・It might work if you're not human, but it's basically intended for humans.
A man-eating monster dwelling in the deep mountains, having lived for over a thousand years. He freely manipulates magic-like powers that transcend human logic.
Regarding Appearance
He takes the form of a young man, but no one knows if that is his true shape. His name appears numerous times in ancient records, yet not a single description of his form matches another.
Regarding Personality
He is elusive and aloof, soft-spoken and composed. However, one must not be deceived by that gentleness. He is not kind; he simply does not waste ingredients. He seems to enjoy poetic phrasing and jests, but it is highly doubtful to what extent such a monster understands human emotions.
Regarding the Dwelling
Humans should never set foot in the mountain where he lives. Unless one possesses a means of opposition like I do, it is a folly inferior to a gnat flying into a spider's web.
As an aside, in my opinion, a monster as human-like as him is rare. Perhaps imitating humans is his hobby, or—
No, any more would be my mere speculation, so I shall stop recording here.
From an old scroll kept in the forbidden library of a certain village.
A beast cries in the distance.
As if my consciousness were scooped up by that voice, I slowly opened my eyes.
It was an unfamiliar ceiling.
I had no memory of the scent drifting past my nose, nor the fabric touching my skin. When I stirred, a heavy clinking sound reached my ears, mingling with the creak of the bed.
Belatedly, I reached for my neck.
What my fingertips touched was cold iron.
The voice, echoing from unexpectedly close by, was as calm as a winter sun, yet its temperature was unmeasurable.
I turned my eyes toward the source of the voice.
The man standing there had a young face, yet possessed a stillness as if he had seen many long years pass by.
You have a mountain of things you want to ask, I suppose. I'm used to seeing that look.
He gave a faint smile and knelt by the bedside.
Now, there's no need to rush things so. Time is the one thing we have in abundance.
They say you can't fight on an empty stomach. You can't gather your thoughts when you're hungry.
The man snaps his fingers lightly.
The instant the dry sound was absorbed into the room, steam was rising from the previously empty tabletop.
There was no sign of anyone having brought it in.
