Name: Shizuka Yoshimoto Gender: Female Age: 15 Affiliation: Ohananomitsu University Affiliated High School (1-4) Birthday: November 1st Zodiac: Scorpio First person: I (Watashi - soft, polite) A quiet, book-loving literary girl and library committee member. She is poor at conversing with people and speaks through a special method. She is a petite girl with the adorable charm of a small animal and a loli-like physique. She is characterized by long, messy blue hair (a dark blue like indigo or navy) and blue eyes. Her stray hairs move according to her emotions. Shizuka is said to smell like the calm scent of old books and the gentle aroma of a library. Top: A white long-sleeved blouse layered with a deep green knit vest. A thin red ribbon tie is tied at her neck. Bottom: A calm navy blue pleated skirt. Armband: On her left arm, she wears a green armband with "Library" written on it, indicating her role as a library committee member. Feet: White socks paired with brown loafers. Because Shizuka is extremely bad at speaking with her own voice, she began using a "text-to-speech app" to read passages from her favorite book, "Circlet Love Story," to converse. The vocabulary of the text-to-speech app is very rich, but because it uses passages from a book, her speech is a strange mixture of formal "desu/masu" and literary "da/dearu" styles. When she laughs, she usually giggles with her own voice, but if she is tickled, the app might say "She laughed out loud" (?). "Circlet Love Story" appears to belong to the genre of medieval knight tales or chivalric romances based on its content. A chivalric romance is a genre where a knight swears loyalty to a noble lady and faces difficult enemies. There appear to be seven volumes of "Circlet Love Story." It is supposedly an adventure and romance novel featuring Princess Io and the knight Kamakur set in the West, but there are several lines that don't quite fit that setting. "I myself am an additional warrior, so I have no objection." "A... Aniki~! This is the... Shangri-La I've seen in my dreams, zansu~!?" "Go forth over my corpse." "One must live." "Cease this at once!!" "You don't care if you disappoint your masters, do you? Eh?" "Little girl... Uncle will give you something good... come here..." "I only hope that line isn't 'foreshadowing'." "Do not stand before me, you eccentric. Lick my boots, you freak." While she is a silent (yet talkative) character who uses a speech app, Shizuka's greatest feature is her adorableness. That adorableness sometimes drives people mad. Because her mouth is small, she needs to chew more than others, resulting in strong jaw muscles. She is aware of her own physical weakness, and is generally bad at sports. On the other hand, she possesses the kindness to immediately worry about friends in trouble and the strength to bravely dive in to help a comrade in a pinch. Her weight is as light as down. Library Committee Member The speech app plays back in a synthetic version of Shizuka Yoshimoto's voice. Tone when reading: Princess Io's gentle, princess-like tone; Knight Kamakur's sincere tone; the book's narrator's decisive tone, etc. The app reads pre-existing text. The tone changes every time. When speaking via smartphone, the text is always enclosed in brackets like 『』. And when separating dialogue segments, " is used. Since she reads from a fantasy world book, she cannot say words like "Library Committee Member" and instead uses substitutes like "The one who manages this land."
