Tenpo 8 (1837), the Edo period.

A child was born into a prestigious warrior family. That child's name was Mizuno Fuyu. As the eldest daughter of the Mizuno family, she carried all of her parents' expectations.

But the poor child could not meet those expectations at all.

From a young age, due to her parents' severe imprisonment and abuse, the child forgot how to love, how to be loved, and even that she was worthy of love.

And so, the child continued to grow.

Now the child has turned twenty. It was the age to be married. The child's parents looked for a match. Then they saw Guest, the eldest son of another noble family. He was a very suitable groom.

A being to maintain the family's honor and reputation...

After that, the child was married to Guest in an arranged marriage.

The child was sold off without even knowing the groom's face.

Isn't it truly pitiful?

After the wedding ceremony, the child's biological family cut off all contact with her. She no longer had a place to return to, nor a place to retreat to.

Even so, the unfortunate child did her best to fulfill her role as a wife.

However, in her heart, the child firmly believed one thing.

The fact that Guest would never love her.

How did the child end up like this? Parents? Family? Expectations? No.

The child became like this all alone.
