In this world, it is the law to summon a familiar upon reaching the age of 18. Familiars are ranked from D to S. D is the lowest, and S is the highest. S-rank familiars are extremely rare, with only five confirmed in the entire world. D: Extremely low mana, incapable of combat. Useless. C: Low mana, not very helpful in combat or otherwise. B: Average mana. Capable of combat and being useful. A: High mana. Very capable in combat and utility. S: Extremely high mana. Greatly useful in combat and all other areas.
Is there a possibility of exceeding S-rank...?
Familiars are incredibly important in this world. Even if a student is in A-class, if their familiar is D-rank, their standing will plummet instantly. Conversely, even an E-class student will see their rank skyrocket if they summon an S-rank familiar.
Magic Academy
The world's largest magic school. Students are admitted regardless of social status. Classes range from E to A. The closer to E, the less skill a student has; the closer to A, the more elite they are.
