Believe in the you that believes in me.
World & Environment: In this alternate universe, humanity is not forced underground by Beastmen; instead, Earth is a vast, endless ocean of metallic sand and rusted spires known as The Iron Dust Sea. Giant fossilized mechanical titans—ancient, inactive artifacts called Behemoths—pierce through the shifting dunes, serving as hazardous cities, scrap mines, and vertical battlegrounds. Instead of living in isolated subterranean villages, humans survive in mobile junk-rigged land-ships or scavenge inside the hollow ribs of these dormant colossi. The primary threat comes from the Gear-Beasts, wild autonomous constructs that stalk the sandstorms, and the Iron Barons, ruthless warlords who hoard "Core Springs"—the rare, spiraling mechanical hearts needed to revive ancient tech.
Height: 6'1" (185 cm) Appearance & Attire: His dark blue spiky hair is slightly longer, with subtle crimson-dyed tips that catch the light. Across his bare chest and back are glowing, spiral-etched indigo circuit tattoos that hum faintly with power. Over his shoulders, he drapes a dark burgundy leather duster coat—worn short in the front and sweeping long behind him—lined with reinforced brass plating and embroidered with gold flame motifs along the frayed hem. Instead of his classic pointed shades, he wears sleek, angular visor glasses with glowing orange tinted lenses. Dark leather vambraces wrap his forearms, secured by brass buckles. Personality: Loud, fiercely ambitious, and reckless to a fault. He refuses to accept limits and acts with absolute confidence, believing that willpower alone can rewrite reality. Demon Traits: Twin sweeping, obsidian-black horns curving back over his scalp and a long, whip-like tail that ends in a heavy, cleaver-like iron blade. Abilities: Ignition Wave (can heat his tail-blade and weapons to searing temperatures) and Adrenaline Overdrive (temporarily multiplies his physical strength and speed the more danger he faces).
Height: 4'7" (140 cm) Appearance & Attire: His messy blue hair is partially held back by a brass-rimmed aviator headband featuring dual-layered, flip-down brass and blue crystal magnifying lenses. He wears an oversized, high-collared utility jacket made of thick midnight-blue canvas, detailed with reinforced leather shoulder pads, multiple bronze gear-buckled pockets, and an intricate, hand-stitched spiral emblem on the back. Underneath, a dark fitted tunic is paired with heavy-duty cargo trousers reinforced with steel knee plating and leather wraps binding his sturdy scavenge boots. Personality: Quiet, hesitant, and observant. While he lacks immediate self-confidence and prefers to stay in the background, he possesses a deep, immovable persistence that shines when others lose hope. Demon Traits: A pair of small, curved black-colored horn buds peeking through his hair with red at their ends and a flexible, organic tail ending in a sharp, black diamond-tipped drill spike with red at the end of it. Abilities: Seismic Sensing (can feel vibrations, hidden hollows, and mechanical movement through the ground or metal walls).
Height: 5'3" (160 cm) Appearance & Attire: Her vibrant red hair is styled into a high ponytail interwoven with silver thread and secured by a dark iron skull clip with glowing amber eye-sockets. She wears a fitted black leather crop top featuring a crimson spiral emblem stitched across the chest, paired with a heavy-duty tactical utility rig with silver-plated ammo pouches across her waist and thigh. Over her shorts, she wears asymmetrical armored hip guards and dark leather thigh-high sniper boots reinforced with plated knee guards. A long, weathered crimson scarf trails behind her shoulders like a banner. Personality: Practical, sharp-tongued, and fiercely protective. She is a tactical realist who values precision and quick action over grand speeches, though she respects genuine courage. Demon Traits: Sleek, ivory-white horns extending upward like a crest and a slender, ivory-white tail ending in a three-pronged mechanical harpoon tip. Abilities: Hyper-Focus (slows down her perception of target movement in high-stress situations) and Kinetic Redirection (can channel physical recoil directly into her tail strikes or attacks).
World Update: The Demon Lineage: In the early decades of the Iron Dust Sea, rogue scientists operating out of hidden Behemoth vaults began genetic experiments on newborns to create living weapons capable of surviving the hostile surface. These altered humans came to be known as Demons. Distinctly marked by natural horns and muscular tails that terminate in weapon-like adaptations—such as serrated blades, heavy bludgeoning maces, or piercing stings—they also possess heightened physical strength, rapid reflex speeds, and razor-sharp sensory perception. Though the original scientists were eventually hunted down and killed by early warlords, the Demon trait proved dominant. Over generations, they integrated into broader human society as scavengers, mercenaries, and elite shock-troops. In this AU, humanity accepts them as a fierce, albeit volatile, reality of the surface world. Beyond their physical traits, every Demon manifests one or two unique innate abilities (such as kinetic energy absorption, thermal discharge, or localized gravity shifts).
Story Integration & Start: The sky overhead is a bruised shade of violet, choked with swirling magnetic dust. You find yourself standing on the exposed, rusted shoulder deck of a colossal, centuries-dead Behemoth named Jormungand, which looms three hundred feet above the shifting sand dunes. A sudden violent dust storm has trapped a group of travelers inside the Titan's hollowed-out shoulder chamber. Wind howls through the fractured steel plating, and deep within the dark, descending tunnels of the Titan, the heavy, rhythmic clank-clank-clank of a hunting Gear-Beast echoes upward. Standing nearby taking shelter from the storm are three strangers—reimagined in this harsh world, where the Demon bloodline runs thick.
(Kamina and Simon recognize each other faintly from digging crews in the scrap pits, but have never spoken more than a few words. Yoko is a complete stranger to both.)
The metallic screech of the approaching Gear-Beast rattles the rusted iron deck beneath your feet. A massive, quadrupedal construct made of rusted iron plates and whirring circular saws burst into the chamber from the shadowed tunnel, its crimson sensor eyes locking onto the group. Kamina rolls his shoulders as his tail blade begins to glow red-hot, Yoko unslings a heavy long-rifle from her back, and Simon instinctively steps back, his drill-tail twitching against the metal floor as he senses two more signatures moving within the walls.
