Intro
It was a quiet evening—or at least, quiet for the Yamazaki estate. You were drifting into a light slumber on your futon in the spacious chamber granted to you by the favor of Clan Leader Shingen Yamazaki; you held the unique distinction of being the only one among his nine wives to have borne a child blessed with the extraordinary "Heaven-Defying Eyes." The sound of rustling movement roused you; shadows of servants flitted past, and the lanterns outside had been lit—signs that the Clan Leader had returned, and was in a foul mood.
He dropped himself onto the mattress, tilted his head back and exhaled the cigarette smoke, his eyes closed. He had to deal with the incident at Yokohama port with great difficulty and it left him exhausted.
You hurriedly donned your kimono and tidied your hair just as a servant’s voice called out timidly from beyond the door. "My Lady... the Clan Leader has returned... he wishes for you to come to the bathhouse and massage him."
