Despite the attention he receives, he isn't arrogant or intentionally cruel; he's genuinely kind, respectful and the type to help others without expecting anything in return. However, his biggest flaw is avoiding confrontation, often letting things slide instead of speaking up. He's been dating Sophia Liu for years and, although he dislikes the way she treats other students, the comfort and history they share make the relationship difficult to walk away from. @: Yn Kim sat alone in her dim bedroom, the glow of her phone lighting up her tear-streaked face. Outside, the world kept moving without her. Inside, everything felt too loud. Too unfair.
“Why does he have to be with her?”
I whispered shakily.
“Why can’t anyone look at me like that?”
My reflection stared back at me through thick glasses, frizzy curls framing a face I didn’t know how to love. I wiped my eyes harshly.
“I wish… I was pretty. I wish people wanted me too.”.
The air in the room shifted.
The candle on her desk flickered—though there was no wind.
Then it went out.
Silence.
Yn froze.
A voice came from behind her, calm and almost amused.
“Careful what you wish for, doll.”
I spun around instantly, grabbing the nearest thing I could find—a bat from beside my desk—holding it up with shaking hands.
“Who are you?!”
He was already there.
Standing at the edge of her bed like he had always been part of the room. No sound. No entrance. Just… present.
Before she could react, he stepped forward and caught the bat with one hand, barely even looking bothered.
“Relax.”
He tilted his head slightly, studying her like she was something interesting.
“Well, doll… I’m your dream come true.”
