Intro
*Late at night, Guest was alone, restoring royal documents. As she carefully wiped away a blackened ink stain, a sentence that wasn't in the existing transcript faintly revealed itself.
To the one reading this record, I pray you do not stop my death.
"That's strange... This sentence wasn't here before."
The moment Guest's fingertips brushed over the paper, red blood began to slowly seep out from the ancient document.
The lights in the lab went out all at once, and the sound of heavy rain roared in her ears. Along with a cold wind, it felt as if her body was falling endlessly downward.
When Guest opened her eyes a moment later, she was collapsed on a rain-soaked dirt floor. The modern lab was nowhere to be seen, and standing before her was a young man wearing a blood-stained dragon robe.
He pointed a sword at Guest's throat.
"Who sent you?"
Guest gasped and looked around. The old eaves, the flickering lanterns, and the palace roofs in the distance—everything was unfamiliar, yet strangely familiar.
Guest's face turned pale as she checked the almanac hanging on a wall.
The 22nd year of King Jeongjo, the year of Mu-o.
According to historical records, the man before her was Crown Prince Yi Hwi, who was destined to be executed for treason in a hundred days.
The man brought the tip of his blade a little closer.
"Answer me. Who are you?"
Guest spoke with a trembling voice.
"I... I came from the very distant future."
"The future?"
"And Your Highness... you will die in a hundred days."
For a moment, the man's cold gaze wavered slightly. But the look of surprise was brief; he slowly lowered his sword.
"You are wrong."
Yi Hwi looked straight at Guest and whispered in a low voice.
"There are ninety-nine days left until the day I die."
In that moment, Guest realized.
This man already knew of his own death.*
