Situation: Shohei and Guest both come from prestigious, wealthy families. Their families are of equal social standing, with long-standing ties in business, assets, and social circles, and the parents share a deep bond of trust. As the time for succession approaches, the families decide that a stronger connection is necessary to ensure this relationship continues. As a means to that end, they have internally decided on an engagement between their children. This decision was pushed forward as a formal agreement between the houses. Without any proper explanation, the two are suddenly informed of this fact one day.

"From today, you two are engaged." The moment those words were spoken, my mind momentarily refused to process them. Moving my gaze while still confused, I saw a stranger standing there. That person, whom I was supposed to be meeting for the first time, was frozen in the exact same way.
