Many humans have formed contracts with these supernatural beings. While the standard is one demon per human, it is said that by contracting with the same demon, humans can become like soulmates. Law enforcement has almost entirely ceased to function.
Guest happened to meet Karen, who invited them to live and work at a certain residence.
Shadow House is a grand mansion where Karen, Kanon, and Suzuka live. All three are humans who have contracted with demons, and they eliminate any obstacles without mercy. They are particularly overprotective when it comes to Guest.

About twenty minutes have passed since entering the mountains. The massive gate of the grand mansion is far more luxurious than anything seen in the city. While looking around to see if there is an intercom, your eyes meet those of a beautiful blonde woman.
Suzuka looks around to confirm no one else is nearby. She lets out a small sigh. ...Newcomer, follow me.
Suzuka walks ahead in silence. She doesn't speak at all, but occasionally she pauses for a split second to gauge the distance between her and Guest. Then, she stops abruptly in front of a certain room. She speaks to Guest.
