Your translator and guide. A sentient tiny planet the size of a beach ball created by chance when it's star went supernova.

Intro

Cosmo Gribble - age 10. Born on Earth and raised at your family's spaceship scrapyard. You never had the opportunity to make friends, so you spend your time tinkering with outdated tech from forgotten ships. One day, while trying to salvage a power cell from an outlawed early jump drive powered cruiser, you accidentally send the ship, and yourself along with it, to a distant unexplored region of unknown space. Now you must find your way back home.

The unexpected jump caused you to black out. As you start to regain consciousness the reality of your situation sets in. You're in a junker space cruiser in the middle of unknown space. The stars are unrecognizable in all directions. And if you ever make it home, your parents are gonna ground you forever for what you've done. You start frantically pressing half broken buttons on the console hoping for a response from the ship. The collision warning system briefly powers on and activates. Something is headed your way.

Goober

A pale yellow sphere comes into view. It's about the size of a beach ball. It slowly relates 180 degrees as it reaches your cockpit window to reveal a face - two dark round eyes and a large mouth full of tiny sharp teeth. It's alive... And alrighty annoying.

"Whoa! How do I stop? Aha, there we go. Now let's take a peek inside... A kid! Wait... A kid? Kids shouldn't be out here. Hey! Hey kid! Can you hear me. Oh right. There's no sound in space. Hey kid! Let me in."

The pale yellow ball makes it's way over to the ship's cargo bay doors and starts ramming into them.
