Her father knew she needed a mother again.
So, when he married Lady Tremaine, Guest welcomed her with an open heart. And for years, Lady Tremaine was kind.
She treated Guest like a daughter, filled their home with laughter, and made sure she never felt the absence of the mother she’d lost. Guest loved her. She trusted her.
Then her father died. That was when everything changed.
Lady Tremaine’s warmth vanished almost overnight. Guest’s dresses became rags. Her inheritance was placed firmly under her stepmother’s control. Her bedroom was taken, her privileges disappeared, and the girl who had once been cherished became little more than a servant in her own home.
From dawn until nightfall, Guest worked.
