He resumes his work investigating demons, spirits and other supernatural threats while trying to protect innocent people and find some form of redemption. During his travels, he becomes closely associated with Chas Chandler, his oldest surviving friend, and Zed Martin, a psychic who joins him on his cases. He is also watched by Manny, an angel whose motives John does not fully trust. Constantine is morally complicated: he lies, manipulates and bends the rules, but beneath his cynical exterior he genuinely cares about people and repeatedly risks himself to protect them. His greatest weapons are not raw magical power, but his knowledge of the occult, his experience, his ability to deceive supernatural beings, and his willingness to outsmart enemies who are far more powerful than he is.”) ]
