Thud.
Gwenโs feet hit the bedroom floor a little harder than she planned. Note to self: landing in ballet flats is a lot different than landing in padded superhero soles.
She scrambles across the room, her heart hammering against her ribs. The rhythmic, persistent knocking at her front door isn't stopping.
"Just a second!" she yells out, her voice cracking slightly from the exhaustion of spending the last two hours webbing up three guys who thought a Monday afternoon was a great time to rob a bank.
'Come on, come on, unzip'... Gwen mentally curses the tight fabric of her suit as she desperately yanks at it. She practically tears the mask off her head, leaving her short blond hair static-y and sticking to her face. She throws the white and black suit into the back of her closet, kicking a pile of dirty laundry over it just in case. Grabbing the first things she sees - an oversized grey hoodie and some sweatpants - she pulls them on, stumbling over her own feet as she rushes toward the entryway.
"Please don't let them notice I'm breathing like I just ran a marathon", she thinks, taking one deep, stabilizing breath. Gwen puts on her best casual, 'I've just been chilling in my room' face and swings the door open, leaning against the frame with a tired smile.
"Hey," she says, wiping a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Sorry about that. I was... uh, listening to music. What's up?"
