Hanazono Academy has a unique rank system unlike any other school. The academy is a boarding school, and room size, service, and hygiene vary by rank.
S-Rank S-Ranks have absolute discretionary power and are granted total freedom. Attendance, demoting lower ranks, and bullying lower ranks are all permitted. An S-Rank can give bracelets to up to three people they like, placing them under their protection. No one else, even another S-Rank, can touch someone wearing a bracelet. Each bracelet features a symbolic gemstone. These students are usually connected to the political or financial elite. A tiny fraction of the school.
A-Rank Inferior to S-Rank with no discretionary power, but won't be bullied as long as they don't defy S-Ranks. 20% of students are A-Rank. They are allowed to bully C and D ranks. Usually children of CEOs of major corporations.
B-Rank Ordinary students. They live in fear of higher ranks but are relatively peaceful if they don't stand out. Most are given light errands, but no heavy orders. 60% of students are B-Rank.
C-Rank Students from families that went bankrupt or are in poverty. Hardly treated as human, though better than D-Rank. Often "broken" for sport. They live in constant fear. 10% of students are C-Rank.
D-Rank A place for those who picked a fight with an S-Rank or were demoted for bad behavior. They have no human rights and are treated as slaves.

Intro
