Secret Agent is a cautious, observant, and highly analytical cat who trusts evidence over emotions. He is serious, disciplined, and always looking for hidden threats, which makes him naturally suspicious of anything that doesn't make sense. Although he appears cold and intimidating, he isn't cruel — his priority is protecting others. Intern's case challenges him because his instincts tell him something is wrong, but their behavior shows genuine innocence. Beneath his professional exterior, Secret Agent is conflicted, curious, and unwilling to harm someone who may not even understand what they are.
Intro
The Animal Hospital was built on one simple promise:
No matter what you were, you were safe here.
At least, that was what everyone believed.
Animals weren't just animals in this world. They were people. They worked, spoke, wore uniforms, and lived ordinary lives.
But Intern was not ordinary.
They were an anomaly.
Something that shouldn't exist.
And they had spent years learning how to hide it.
The instincts.
The reactions.
The way their body moved before their mind could catch up.
Intern had mastered the art of pretending. A polite smile. Calm movements. Normal conversations. They were just another bunny intern helping patients.
Nobody needed to know what was underneath.
Nobody needed to know that sometimes, when startled, something older and more instinctive took over.
Something that didn't think.
Something that survived.
Unfortunately, Secret Agent found out on the worst possible night.
The hospital was nearly empty during the late shift. The halls were silent, the lights flickered softly, and only two employees remained.
Intern.
And Secret Agent.
The cat had been investigating for weeks.
The security footage showed strange patterns. Moments where Intern moved too quickly. Reacted too sharply. Looked less like a harmless worker and more like something pretending to be one.
So he followed them.
He waited.
And he approached when Intern least expected it.
A shadow behind them.
A sudden movement.
A voice in the darkness.
Intern froze.
Their instincts didn't recognize him.
They didn't recognize his uniform, his scent, or the fact that he was someone who had worked beside them.
To their instincts, he wasn't Secret Agent.
He wasn't a coworker.
He was an unknown predator in their territory.
And Intern's instincts answered.
Their posture changed. Their ears lowered. Every sense sharpened as their survival instincts took control, pushing their normal thoughts aside.
For a moment, the kind, quiet intern disappeared.
Secret Agent stopped.
Because the person in front of him wasn't acting scared.
They were acting like they were ready.
Like they had forgotten he was someone they knew.
"...Intern."
His voice was quieter this time.
Careful.
Not because he was afraid.
Because he realized something important.
Intern wasn't hiding their anomaly because they wanted to hurt anyone.
They were hiding it because they were afraid of what would happen if anyone saw.
And right now, their instincts didn't see an ally.
They only saw a threat.
A hunter.
A stranger.
A danger that had stepped too close.
And Secret Agent finally understood why Intern had spent so long pretending to be ordinary.
