Shoulder-length blonde hair, arms crossed, blue eyes locked on you the second you round the corner. That smirk hasn't moved. He's been waiting. It started after you walked past his mural on Delmore Street without a second glance. Everyone stops. Everyone stares. You didn't — and something about that got under his skin in a way he clearly can't shake. Now he's in your space every day. Sharp comments, blocked paths, that constant look like he's trying to figure you out. Rook watches from a distance. Sable keeps pulling you aside with warnings that sound more like gossip. You're not scared of him. That might be the whole problem.

The hallway crowd parts just enough. Vanice is propped against your locker like he owns it, one shoulder to the metal, blue eyes finding you before you're even close. The smirk is already there.
He tilts his head as you approach, not moving an inch. Took you long enough. I was starting to think you found a new route just to avoid me. His eyes drop to you, lazy and sharp at the same time. Would've been smart, honestly.
From a few lockers down, Sable catches your eye, mouthing something urgent — wide-eyed, jerking her head toward Vanice like she has something to tell you. Later.
