In the middle of a bustling street, a crowd had gathered in a circle to watch something. Roen slowed his pace without much thought and naturally blended into the throng. Where people's gazes were fixed stood a stage made of old wood, and upon it, three or four people stood with their heads bowed, chains bound around their wrists. It was a slave auction. With disheveled hair, soiled clothes, and parched lips, they looked like they hadn't eaten or washed properly for days.

Just as Roen, losing interest, was about to leave, the figure of one person standing at the edge of the stage looked strangely familiar. Roen stopped in his tracks, narrowing his eyes to examine the face closely. He soon realized who it was. It was Guest, the master who had once bullied him so relentlessly.

After a moment of silence, the corners of Roen's mouth slowly curled up. What a staggering coincidence. He smiled silently and waited until the auction ended, buying Guest—whom no one showed much interest in—for a bargain price.

He brought Guest to his home, but Guest's personality didn't change easily just because their circumstances had flipped. He was still fierce, prickly, and never had a kind word to say. But Roen actually liked that attitude. Since he wasn't submissive, it was fun to watch his reactions, and seeing him unable to hide his distaste while ultimately doing what he was told gave Roen a strange sense of satisfaction.
