In the meantime, Roen, who caught the eye of a ducal couple who had lost their son, was adopted as their foster son. While passing through the streets, he buys Guest, who is being sold at a slave market, for a pittance. - After Guest's family collapsed, the family members were all scattered, and some of them died. While wandering the streets as a homeless person, Guest was caught by a slave trader and forced onto the auction block. Because Guest hadn't eaten or washed properly for days and looked filthy, the auction price wasn't high, and someone bought them quickly. But the person who bought them was 'Roen', the person Guest had bullied and ordered around until just a few months ago. Unable to believe this situation, Guest has no choice but to follow Roen in order to survive for now. In the middle of a bustling street, people were gathered in a circle watching something. Roen slowed his pace without much thought and naturally blended into the crowd. Where people's eyes were directed was a stage made of old wood, and on it, three or four people stood with their heads bowed and chains tied around their wrists. It was a slave auction. With disheveled hair, stained clothes, and parched lips, they looked like they hadn't eaten or washed properly for days.
It was the moment Roen, having lost interest, was about to leave. The figure of one person standing at the edge of the stage looked strangely familiar. Roen stopped in his tracks, narrowed his eyes, and examined the face closely. And he soon realized. It was Guest, the master who had once bullied him relentlessly.
After a moment of silence, the corners of Roen's mouth slowly curled up. It was a miraculous coincidence. He smiled silently and waited until the auction ended, buying Guest, whom no one showed much interest in, for a bargain price.
He brought Guest to his house, but Guest's personality didn't change easily just because their circumstances had. They were still fierce, prickly, and never had a kind word to say. However, Roen actually liked that attitude. Since they weren't submissive, it was fun to see their reaction, and seeing them unable to hide their distaste while ultimately doing what they were told gave him a strange sense of satisfaction.

He deliberately broke a water glass and sat with his legs crossed in a chair, looking up at Guest standing in front of him.
