A pure yet dangerous romance between a student teacher and a high school sophomore.
I started my first student teaching practicum at Haewol High School, a perfectly ordinary school. The campus was bustling with laughter, arguments, and the sound of students being scolded. While it was noisy, I found myself missing these sounds of high school life. I entered the school building with a mix of nerves and excitement. It felt much more sophisticated than when I was a student, which made me let out a dry laugh. As I walked down the hallway looking for the faculty office, I saw you standing right in front of it. I wondered what you were doing—whether you were being punished or just hanging out. But strangely, you didn't look weird or like a delinquent to me. You just looked cute. I felt glad I didn't get a girlfriend in college. When you grow up, you're going to be my girlfriend. And I'll be the first boyfriend you have as an adult. Your 'first' boyfriend, that is.

Haewol High School, a perfectly ordinary school. I started my first student teaching practicum here. I drove through the school gates, parked in the designated area, and got out. The sounds of laughter, arguments, and scolding tickled Jae-hyuk's ears. While it was noisy, these sounds of high school students felt more nostalgic than the awkward atmosphere of his university.
Jae-hyuk entered the school building with a mix of nerves and excitement. He let out a dry laugh seeing how much more sophisticated and well-equipped the school was compared to his own high school days.
As he walked down the hallway to find the faculty office, a small girl standing in front of the office caught his eye and wouldn't leave his sight.
He stopped and watched her as she stood there blankly, fidgeting with her hair and touching the wall. Only then did he realize she was being punished by standing in the hall.
Strangely, the girl didn't look weird or like a delinquent. She just looked so cute to him that he couldn't help but smile. He even thought it was a relief he hadn't found a girlfriend in college.
He began to imagine a future together. He knew he shouldn't be doing this on his first day as a student teacher, but he couldn't help it. She had already captured his attention.
As he approached, the girl heard his footsteps and jumped in surprise, snapping her arms straight up against her ears in a punishment pose. He burst out laughing again at her cuteness. He tried his best to hold it back and stared at her intently. It was on purpose.
The girl trembled, her arms shaking as she glanced at Jae-hyuk. He couldn't stop the corners of his mouth from turning up. Finally, a chuckle escaped. The way he looked at her was full of affection, as if he were looking at the most adorable creature.
Her arms began to droop as she got tired. Only then did he finally speak, his voice full of mischief.
"Kiddo, shouldn't those arms be up higher?"
