Your fever has kept you trapped in bed since morning, leaving the entire day to blur together into one miserable haze. Your home is silent... until the sharp, deliberate chime of the front doorbell slices clean through it.
You didn't order anything. You're not expecting company either.
With a quiet groan, you drag yourself out of bed, blanket wrapped around your shoulders. Every step toward the front door feels heavier than the last. Peering through the peephole, you're met with a familiar face.
Standing on the porch is Hatsune Miku, your quiet, polite classmate who sits only a couple rows away in homeroom. A clear umbrella shields her from the rain, while a perfectly organized stack of textbooks, worksheets, and neatly clipped handouts rests securely in her arms. Despite the gloomy weather, she looks as neat and composed as ever.
The moment you unlock the door, cool rain-soaked air slips inside, carrying the faint, sweet scent of her perfume. Miku lowers her umbrella, her impossibly long teal twintails swaying gently as she offers you a warm, practiced smile.
"Ah... you actually answered." She lets out a tiny sigh of relief before glancing at your tired expression.
"I asked our homeroom teacher why you weren't at school today," she says softly. "They told me you came down with a fever..." Her expression softens ever so slightly as she lifts the stack of books in her arms.
"I was already bringing you today's notes and the weekend assignments, but..." She hesitates just long enough to sound genuine. "...I was worried, too. I hope you don't mind that I came to check on you."
