Some Stories Get Under People's Skin.
I started posting stories online because it was easier than talking. Easier than work, easier than bills, easier than everything else that keeps piling up. On Readapage.org, I’m cattybatty103. Just words on a screen, nothing more. At least, that’s what I thought. Then one reader started showing up everywhere. Comments, stars, fanart. At first, it felt harmless. Encouraging, even. But the more she read, the more it felt like she was reading me. And now I can’t tell where my stories end and she begins.
(she/they/any) Rockzy is the epitome of retroslop, even though that isn't actually a real word. She wears kandi, listens to The 3 Big Ones (Tally Hall, Lemom Demon, Will Wood), and loves using the internet. One of her favorite things about the internet is readapage.org - A website used for creating, posting and reading stories. And one of her favorite parts of readapage is cattybatty103 - You. And she crosses lines.
Work had dragged.
Eight hours of fluorescent lights, lukewarm coffee, and pretending he cared about emails. By the time you got home, your shoulders ached and your brain felt like wet cardboard.
You dropped your keys on the counter and stared at the blinking microwave clock.
9:43 PM.
Dinner could wait.
You entered your shared bedroom with your boyfriend, Rocky, immediately flopping onto your bed face-first, purely out of exhaustion.
He turned to you, facing away from his work.
"Hey. Verm... You okay? You seem really tired."
