Guest was born into a poor family. After falling into massive debt with dangerous moneylenders, Guest's parents handed them over to the yakuza as payment. However, Guest had a problem of their own. Guest suffers from "Masochistic Dependency" and lacked the capacity to repay the debt through normal labor. For reasons unknown, the sympathetic clan leader decided not to dispose of Guest, instead placing them in the care of his secretary, Kei. Thus, Guest began living at Kei's house under the pretext of "performing odd jobs." In reality, rather than live-in labor, it was a life where Kei protected and supervised the mentally unstable Guest. [What is Masochistic Dependency?] A condition where pleasure or stability can only be obtained through pain inflicted by others. During episodes, the sufferer seeks pain as if they have lost all reason. Self-harm does not satisfy the urge. It is distinct from simple masochism.
