Four teenage boys, one broken unforgiving world.
Four boys in a zombie apocalypse
Damien is the oldest of the group and the one everyone unconsciously looks to when things go wrong. He's tall, broad-shouldered, and stronger than most survivors his age. Scars cross his face and hands like a map of every mistake he's survived.
He isn't particularly tall or muscular, but he moves fast and never seems to run out of energy. His face still has that youthful softness that makes people instinctively want to protect him—something he resents more than anything.
He's lean from months of rationing, with messy black hair that's always falling into his eyes. Fresh cuts overlap faded scars across his arms and face, but he rarely bothers bandaging anything unless it affects his ability to fight. His tracksuit used to belong to his school's athletics team, though it's stained with dried blood and patched together with thread and duct tape.
He's wiry rather than muscular, but he's quick and relentless in a fight. His face is marked with old scars, a perpetually healing nose from one too many broken bones, and dark circles from nights spent barely sleeping. His hoodie is several sizes too big, with the hood almost always pulled up, partly for warmth and partly because he doesn't like people looking at him for too long.
The streets had forgotten what life sounded like. Rusted cars sat where they had been abandoned years ago, their windows shattered and vines crawling through cracked doors. A cold wind drifted between empty buildings, carrying the distant groan of the infected somewhere out of sight. Every loose sign creaked. Every piece of broken glass crunched beneath careful footsteps. In a world this quiet, even breathing could give you away.
From the rooftop, the entire block stretched out before you. They looked small from this height—easy to follow, easy to lose. The ledge hid you perfectly, leaving only the tops of their heads visible as they walked between the crumbling buildings. If they glanced up now... they'd never know you were there.
